Her first keeper was Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein. The first hardback she ever bought was Jean Auel’s Clan of the Cave Bear. She went on to buy the complete series. In between, she started reading romances and fell in love with them, too. Darcy Carson is an award winning published author. Her first book, a romantic comedy called The Trouble With Mother by Hard Shell Word Factory, won the Emerald City Keeper Award. She has been active in Romance Writers of America as Tacoma Chapter president, founding President of Eastside Romance Writers and served as RWA’s National Conference Agent/Editor Liaison. She launched an Internet radio show called Romance Review where she interviewed romance authors. Currently she is a board member for Pacific Northwest Writers Association, a 52-year-old nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the creative and professional talents of writers. She returned to her Sci/Fi Fantasy roots and is currently working on a high fantasy romance series that involves dragons, wizards and some really loveable characters. Darcy is a native of Seattle, Washington, but now lives in a suburb with her hard-working husband, two dogs and one cat.
Like
most writers, Darcy Carson started out as a reader. In
fact, her mother said she didn’t see her daughter’s face
from age 12-18. Her nose was always buried inside a book.
